What you need to do is to change the setting in Tools > Internet Options - Programs Tab to the required program you wish to use.

I think that if you haven't changed the default settings, the emails should be backed up at the following location C:\Documents and Settings\julie\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst I'm not 100% sure about how to retrieve them from this file as i don't use outlook for emai...
